Nicholas Thayne Acord

A RENAISSANCE MAN As a graffiti artist in Phoenix, Arizona he learned many artistic styles and life lessons. One being that he knew he needed to return to the mountains- for good. During college he studied business, art, anthropology and Qigong. Today he is a mixed media artist; creating oil on canvas paintings, digital designs, business branding, art for apparel, snowboards, skis and skateboards. Nicholas is an avid practitioner of Qigong, mediation, breathwork, iron shirt techniques, yoga and massage. This regiment heals his body from injuries and manages a rare blood disorder- naturally. He whole heartedly believes that adding splitboarding, hiking at elevations upwards of 10,000 feet to his daily practice, is what drives his body to reproduce red blood cells. For the past several years he has been developing the “Hidden Manual” which incorporates these ancient modalities with modern technology to teach snowboarding and lifestyle techniques. As a snowboarder/freerider Nicholas trains upwards of 120 days on mountain. He has competed in Freeride Snowboarding contests in Lake Tahoe, Big Sky, Crested Butte, Beartooth, Chile, South America and Revelstoke, B.C. Upcoming trips include Italy, Alaska and beyond. He created promotional artwork for two stops on the Freeride World Tour Qualifiers.
